For Those Who Served: Local Ceremonies Pay Tribute to U.S. Veterans

8:52 p.m. November 11, 2021

Community members and officials gathered at Veterans Park in Wilmette on Wednesday, Nov. 11, for the town’s annual Veterans Day ceremony.

Village President Senta Plunkett shared some words in the event led by the local American Legion and assisted by local Boy Scouts. Guest of honor John Plante, who served in World War II, laid a memorial wreath at the site.

Local schools also honored veterans and the holiday.
