Fired Up: Community takes on hot, hotter wings to support The Record

4:35 p.m. May 21, 2025

Local-news supporters, hot-wings lovers and mesmerized spectators packed into Pit & Tap on Monday, May 19, to enjoy Heat Check, an inaugural event from the restaurant and The Record North Shore.

Participants took on 10 hot sauces, each one hotter than the previous, while emcee George Rafeedie kept the crowd entertained and funds were raised for local, public-service reporting from The Record North Shore.
