Winnetka Rotary celebrates 15 local organizations — including The Record

Area do-gooders united on April 24 at the Winnetka Community House for a celebratory luncheon hosted by the Winnetka Rotary Club.

The Rotary gifted grant funds to 15 North Shore nonprofits, including The Record North Shore, a five-year-old newsroom focused on daily public service reporting.

“Part of the Rotarian test is asking, ‘Is it the truth?’ This grant empowers The Record to help answer that question for our readers and our community every day,” said Ryan Osborn, director of development of The Record.

The recognition luncheon and community grants are annual programs for the Winnetka Rotary. This year, the rotary issued more community grants (15) than is typical. Immediate Past President Bob Baker said the normal number is between 10-12.
