Taylor’s undead era on Oak Street

The previous owners of a home on Oak Street in Winnetka were Halloween superstars, and the home’s new owners, Erin and Jason, quickly heard all about how their theatrics would be a tough act to follow.

Well, no act is bigger than Taylor Swift.

Honoring the passion of their two daughters, both Swifties, Erin said, the family has staged a skeleton-ized version of a Taylor Swift show in their front yard in the 600 block of Oak.

The couple recently moved to Winnetka from the city and, upon hearing about the haunts of their predecessors, started to conjure up some ideas. With their daughters’ in their Taylor Swift era, the theme was a no-brainer.

Skeleton Swifties take in a spooky show on Winnetka’s Oak Street.

They enlisted the help of an event planner with whom they previously worked, and created a rockin’ idea. The family went out of town while the display was constructed, so it was a surprise to the girls when they returned, Erin said.

The scene is highlighted by a star skeleton with blonde hair and a pink guitar in the middle of a makeshift stage. She is supported by backup dancers, and of course, her giant Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend stage right.

The family had the display put up while out of town so it was a surprise for their children.

Swiftie skeletons have come up (from the ground) to see this special show, sporting Swiftie T-shirts, bracelets and VIP passes. Erin and Jason are also spoofed in the display.

The undead concert has been a hit. Erin said plenty of passersby stop and enjoy the performanace.

And just like any Taylor Swift event, it has created its share of traffic.
