Loyola Academy celebrates two dozen Ramblers on their college athletic commitments
Loyola Academy once again had plenty of congratulations to pass out during a national signing day ceremony.
The school on Feb. 2 recognized 24 student-athletes who will continue competing at the college level. Fifteen more Ramblers were celebrated in ceremonies on Nov. 10 and Dec. 15 earlier this school year. Inclement weather forced the postponement of the physical ceremony on Feb. 2.
Seven more Ramblers football players made their choices known, joining the three who signed on Dec. 15 (James Kreutz, LB, Illinois; Marco Maldonado, RB, Colgate; and Eddie Dreher, LS, Denison)
Another football player, Will Maheras signed his letter to play lacrosse for the University of Notre Dame, one of the top programs in the country.
Maheras was an All-State selection his junior year and helped lead the Ramblers to a state championship.
“Will is extremely difficult to guard. There is a reason many Division 1 programs reached out about him,” Ramblers coach Rob Snyder said in a statement. “Will was the best player in the state last year.”
