Boys and Girls in Blue: Families enjoy behind-curtain look at police department

11:19 p.m. May 1, 2022

Community members got an insider’s look at both the Wilmette Police Department and the Wilmette Historical Museum during the annual combined open house on Sunday, May 1.

At the station, guests could take a step in the lock-up cell, get fingerprinted, and visit a variety of tables providing explanations of everything from police equipment to vehicles.

Across the street, the museum offered tours, which include the original Wilmette lockup, and activities.
