Police Reports: Counterfeit bills, car burglaries in Winnetka, retail thefts in Highland Park

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

July 25

• A car reportedly was stolen from a home in the 100 block of 4th Street.

July 23

• Counterfeit cash reportedly was used at a business in the 1100 block of Central Avenue.

WINNETKA

July 21

• Two cars reportedly were illegally entered overnight in a driveway in the 300 block of Poplar Street.

• Two cars reportedly were illegally entered overnight in the 500 block of Willow Road.

• Cash and a check, a total value of $905, reportedly were stolen overnight from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 500 block of Willow Road.

• An unlocked car reportedly was illegally entered overnight in the 500 block of Sunset Road.

July 20

• Counterfeit cash reportedly was used at Noah’s Ark Pet Store, 831 Elm St.

GLENCOE

No incidents reported between July 15-22 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

July 26

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from ABC Jewelers, 603 Elm St.

July 25

• Cash reportedly was stolen from a wallet in the 200 block of Sheridan Road.

July 23

• Mail reportedly was stolen from a mailbox in the 2600 block of Roslyn Lane.

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Anthropologie, 1780 Green Bay Road.

• Approximately $2,500 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Guitar Center, 143 Skokie Valley Road.

July 22

• A car window reportedly was shattered and a purse reportedly stolen from that car in the 400 block of Central Avenue.

• A car window reportedly was shattered and items reportedly stolen from that car at Hidden Creek AquaPark, 1220 Fredrickson Place.

• Headphones reportedly were stolen from an unzipped bag on a bench at West Ridge Park, 2636, West Ridge Road.

NORTHFIELD

July 21

• A car reportedly was burglarized overnight in the 1800 block of Grove Drive.

KENILWORTH

July 19

• A lawnmower reportedly was stolen from a property in the 500 block of Sheridan Road.

SKOKIE

July 23

• A building reportedly was burglarized in the 8800 block of Lamon Avenue

• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 8200 block of Kilpatrick Avenue.

July 22

• A building reportedly was burglarized in Westfield’s Old Orchard shopping center, the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.

• Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly burglarizing a building in Maywood.

July 19

• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 8300 block of Kilpatrick Avenue.

• Police arrested a 37-year-old man in the 8700 block of Keeler Avenue for allegedly possessing a stolen vehicle.

• Police arrested a 29-year-old man on July 19 for allegedly committing reckless conduct causing bodily harm in the AMC Village Crossing theatre at 7000 Carpenter Road.

July 18

• A vehicle reportedly was burglarized in the 7900 block of Kenneth Avenue.

• A residence reportedly was burglarized between July 17-18 in the 8000 block of Kenton Avenue.

July 17

• A robbery reportedly occurred in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard.

July 16

A car reportedly was burglarized in the 550 block of Touhy Avenue.
