Police Reports: Catalytic converter thefts, car burglaries, stolen basketball hoop

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

May 14

• A laptop reportedly was stolen overnight from a home in the 400 block of 5th Street.

WINNETKA

May 15

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of more than $5,000 by an individual purporting to be from So Cal Doors who requested a wire transfer.

GLENCOE

May 14

• A man was arrested for alleged theft from the Mobil Gas Station, 635 Vernon Ave.

HIGHLAND PARK

May 13

• A catalytic converter reportedly was stolen overnight from a work vehicle at Little Tommy’s Plumbing, 1578 Old Deerfield Road.

• A catalytic converter reportedly was stolen overnight from a work vehicle parked in the 1400 bock of Deerfield Road.

May 11

• A basketball hoop reportedly was stolen from the 900 block of Pleasant Avenue.

NORTHFIELD

No incidents reported between May 11-17 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

KENILWORTH

No reported incidents between May 8-15.

SKOKIE

May 12

• Property reportedly was stolen from a car in the 5100 block of Birchwood Avenue.

• An aggravated assault that involved a firearm or other device reportedly occurred in the 8100 block of Knox Avenue.

May 11

• Property reportedly was stolen sometime between Oct. 15 and May 11 from a car in the 3300 block of Oakton Street

• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 4600 block of Oakton Street.

May 7

• Police arrested an 18-year-old in the 8800 block of Central Park Avenue for allegedly burglarizing a building, trespassing vehicles, possessing burglary tools and contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor.

May 6

• A car reportedly was burglarized between May 2-6 in the 8700 block of LeClaire Avenue.
