Police Reports: $20,000 item stolen from gym bag, loose dogs bite other dogs, dog-walkers

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

Dec. 14

• Two were arrested after reportedly being found in a stolen car that crashed on Lake Avenue near Edens Plaza.

Dec. 10

• Two loose dogs reportedly attacked other dogs and those dogs’ walkers and attempted to bite responding police officers in the 800 block of Locust Road. The owners of the dogs were located on Dec. 12.

WINNETKA

Dec. 12

• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for an amount exceeding $5,000.

GLENCOE

HIGHLAND PARK

Dec. 13

• An item worth $227 reportedly was taken from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

Dec. 12

• A coat and hat reportedly were taken from a coat rack in the locker room at LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road.

Dec. 10

• An item valued at $2,000 reportedly was stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Orleans Circle.

Dec. 8

• More than $100 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road

• An item worth approximately $20,000 reportedly was stolen from an individual’s gym bag at LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road.

NORTHFIELD

Dec. 9

• A residential burglary took place in the 1800 block of Grove Drive.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Dec. 5-12

SKOKIE

Dec. 11

• Property reportedly was defaced in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.

• A car reportedly was stolen at around 5 p.m. in the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard.

Dec. 10

• Property reportedly was defaced between 4-6 p.m. in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.

• Undisclosed parts reportedly were stolen from a car overnight in the 9200 block of Harding Avenue.

• Undisclosed parts reportedly were stolen from a car overnight in the 4800 block of Wright Terrace.

• A car reportedly was stolen overnight in the 4200 block of Golf Road.

• A car reportedly was burglarized between 7-9:10 p.m. in the 3400 block of Touhy Avenue.

• Three incidents of theft reportedly occurred between Dec. 8-10 in the 4900 block of Dempster Street.

Dec. 9

• An individual was arrested for allegedly stealing from Macy’s, 4909 Old Orchard Center.

• A car reportedly was stolen around 7:25 p.m. in the 3200 block of Howard Street.

• A car reportedly was burglarized between 5-8:50 a.m. in the 3900 block of Jerome Street.

Dec. 8

• A car reportedly was stolen in the 3200 block of Howard Street.

• Two incidents of retail theft reportedly occurred in the 4900 block of Dempster Street.

Dec. 6

• A car reportedly was stolen between 9-9:15 p.m. in the 4400 block of Dempster Street.

• A car reportedly was stolen overnight in the 8700 block of Hamlin Avenue.

Dec. 5

• A building reportedly was burglarized between 2:30-2:40 p.m. in the 5300 block of Old Orchard Road.
