Police Reports: Rash of car break-ins in Winnetka, illegal fireworks in Glencoe

WILMETTE
July 12
• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen from the 1200 block of 16th Street.
• Multiple items reportedly were stolen from a car in the 900 block of 12th Street.
July 11
• Items reportedly were stolen from and a window reportedly shattered on a locked car in the 3500 block of Forest Avenue.
July 10
• Jewelry reportedly was stolen from a home in the 2800 block of Old Glenview Road.
July 9
• Multiple items reportedly were stolen from at least three unlocked cars — one each in the 200 block of Westmoreland Avenue, 800 block of Skokie Boulevard and 800 block of Lavergne Avenue.
WINNETKA
July 11
• An unlocked car with the key fob inside reportedly was stolen overnight from a driveway in the 1000 block of Starr Road.
July 8
• At least nine unlocked cars reportedly were broken into overnight in the 700 and 800 blocks of Foxdale Avenue. One of them was burglarized, according to reports, of $65.
GLENCOE
July 6
• A registered child sex offender was arrested for reportedly loitering at Lakefront Park, 30 Park Ave., in violation of restrictions placed on the individual.
July 4
• Seven juveniles were cited for reportedly setting off illegal fireworks and damaging the Glencoe Golf Club grounds, 600 Westley Road.
HIGHLAND PARK
July 12
• Four birdfeeders reportedly were stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Glencoe Avenue.
• Approximately $1,400 in landscaping equipment was stolen from a work trailer in the 1000 block of Saxony Drive.
July 10
• An iPhone reportedly was stolen from a car parked at the U.S. Post Office, 833 Central Ave.
July 7
• A car reportedly was stolen in the 1200 block of Cavell Avenue.
• A wallet reportedly was stolen overnight from an unlocked car in the 2900 block of Twin Oaks Drive.
NORTHFIELD
July 10
• A fire reportedly originated in a sawdust-removal system at a business in the 1700 block of Harding Road. The business sustained minor damage to interior walls and no one was injured, according to police.
KENILWORTH
July 1-8
• An individual reportedly made a fraudulent purchase of a car online using a resident’s personal information.
