Police Reports: Retail-theft arrests, car burglaries and more

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

Dec. 20

• A man was arrested for allegedly stealing a car from 1200 block of Green Bay Road.

Dec. 17

• A wallet reportedly was stolen between Dec. 14-15 from a car in the 300 block of Ridge Road.

• Several items reportedly were stolen from a store in the 1200 block of Wilmette Avenue.

Dec. 16

• A woman was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Wilmette store in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road on Sept. 30. At the time of the arrest, the woman reportedly was in the custody of the Northbrook police related to a separate retail theft.

WINNETKA

Dec. 17

• A check reportedly was fraudulently executed in an amount greater than $5,000.

Dec. 16

• Clothes reportedly were stolen between Nov. 30-Dec. 1 from a communal laundry room in the 900 block of Green Bay Road.

GLENCOE

No reported incidents that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

Dec. 20

• Two bags of groceries reportedly were stolen from a porch in the 300 block of N. Deere Park W. Drive.

Dec. 17

• Services valued at $8,000 reportedly were not paid for at Gregory Hyundai, 490 Skokie Valley Road.

NORTHFIELD

No reported incidents that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Dec. 12-19

SKOKIE

Dec. 15

• An aggravated assault based on the use of a firearm or firearm-like device reportedly took place around 9:22 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue.

Dec. 14

• A building reportedly was burglarized around 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 9600 block of Skokie Boulevard.

Dec. 13

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Dempster Street.

Dec. 12

• Police arrested a 30-year-old man on Dec. 12 on four preliminary charges of felony retail theft from a business in Westfield Old Orchard.

• A car reportedly was stolen sometime around 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 12 in the 4300 block of Howard Street.

• A car reportedly was stolen between Nov. 7-14 from the 8700 block of Skokie Boulevard.

• A car reportedly was burglarized between Oct. 31-Nov. 10 in the 3900 block of Enfield Avenue.

• An aggravated assault, based on the “status of the victim,” reportedly took place sometime between Dec. 11-12 in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue.
