Skokie e-bike accident sends one to the hospital

A person on an electric bicycle was transported to the hospital on Monday afternoon after they were involved in a vehicle accident in north Skokie.

Skokie police and fire personnel responded to the traffic crash involving the e-bike and two vehicles near Golf Road and Keeler Avenue around 5:48 p.m., said Skokie Sgt. Brandi Shelton in an email.

It is unclear how the crash occurred, and Skokie officials declined to share more details.

Skokie Fire personnel transported the struck bicyclist to an area hospital for “non life-threatening injuries from the traffic crash.” All vehicles and drivers remained on the scene.

The investigation into the traffic crash remains active.
