New Trier 70, Benjamin Franklin (Arizona) 38

The Trevians (8-1) started their southwest roadtrip out with a victory on Thursday, Dec. 18, in tournament play at Saguaro High School in Arizona.

Loyola 50, Kenwood 46

Luke Alvarez scored 16 points and Brody Munsey-Johnson 13 in the Ramblers’ Team Rose Shootout victory on Sunday, Dec. 14, in Chicago.

Trey Williams added 11 points for Loyola (9-1).

Taft 57, Highland Park 56 (OT)

Gray Kanter recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds led the way for the Giants (2-7) in the tough overtime loss on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Evan Mintzer chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds for Highland Park.

New Trier 56, Deerfield 42

The host Trevians earned the league victory on Friday, Dec. 12, in Winnetka.

Vernon Hills 53, Highland Park 41

Gray Kanter put up 19 points in the losing effort for the visiting Giants on Friday, Dec. 12.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Loyola 52, Richwoods 28

Emily Naraky scored 12 points and Maddie Locke and Marycait Mackie 11 apiece to lead the visiting Ramblers (9-1) to the nonconference win on Saturday, Dec. 13, in Peoria.

New Trier 56, Deerfield 21

The Trevians (5-6, 2-2) took care of business on the road on Friday, Dec. 12.

Vernon Hills 63, Highland Park 31

The Giants (5-3, 2-1) fell in the league matchup on Friday, Dec. 12, as the Cougars grabbed early control of the CSL North

Matthew Miralles (4th, 138 pounds), Tommy Tures (4th, 190), Cooper Kemnitz (5th, 285) and Tyler Arneson (6th, 150) each placed for New Trier on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Prospect High School.

The Trevians fell short against their rival on Thursday, Dec. 18.

GYMNASTICS
Hinsdale Central’s Estoque Invite

Elena Scarano tied for third with her floor exercise routine (9.25) to lead New Trier to fifth place on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Harper Jacobs placed 10th on floor and vault and Karis Park 12th on bars for the Trevians.

BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING
New Trier 103, Hinsdale Central 83

Jared Goldstein won the 100-yard butterfly, Everett Pumphrey the 500 freestyle and Knox Noble the diving competition to lead the Trevians to the dual-meet victory on Saturday, Dec. 13, in Winnetka.

The Trevians also picked up wins in the 200 (Goldstein, Charlie Sears, Teddy O’Donnell, Filip Stolar) and 400 (O’Donnell, Sears, Stolar, Reed Woodard) free relays.
