Police Reports: Smash-and-grab burglary at smoke shop, other business burglaries

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

May 17

• A purse reportedly was stolen from a car parked in the 1000 block of Lake Avenue.

• A check reportedly was stolen and altered.

WINNETKA

May 18

• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed in an amount exceeding $5,000.

May 17

• More than $5,000 in fraudulent transactions reportedly were made between April 29-May 10 from a resident’s bank account.

May 16

• A car reportedly was fraudulently purchased between May 13-16 using a resident’s personal information.

May 13

• More than $200 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Walgreens, 925 Green Bay Road.

GLENCOE

No reports between May 7-14 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

May 17

• Merchandise valued at approximately $50 reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

May 15

• A guitar valued at $1,670 reportedly was stolen from Guitar Center, 143 Skokie Valley Road.

May 14

• A wallet with credit cards and $75 reportedly were taken from an unlocked car in the 500 block of Sumac Road.

• More than $1,000 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Ulta, 135 Skokie Valley Road.

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

May 13

• Cash reportedly was stolen from Legendary Smoke Shop, 492 Old Elm Road, after entry was gained when a rock was thrown through a front window and a security gate was broken.

• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen from a driveway in the 2000 block of Marl Oak Drive.

• Items reportedly were taken from an unlocked car in the 1000 block of Half Day Road.

NORTHFIELD

May 11

• Several items reportedly went missing over the past year from a resident’s home in the 2100 block of Old Willow Road.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between May 9-16.
