Local Easter festivities ‘eggs’tra special in 2021

Public egg hunts weren’t held last year. Not many events were in the midst of the pandemic.

But plenty has changed in a year. Along with the emergence of vaccinations, event organizers are equipped with more knowledge about COVID-19, allowing them to hold certain events safely.

Egg hunts fit that category and were a hit in North Shore communities over Easter weekend, Friday-Sunday, April 2-4.

The Wilmette Park District reportedly hosted about 500 children and around 30 dogs for multiple hunts through Gillson Park on Saturday, April 4.

While just north, the Winnetka Park District welcomed the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo and local families for a sold-out festive affair.
