Plaza del Lago’s The Henry opens this week
A new Wilmette restaurant is nearly ready for early-risers wanting their coffee to-go, lunchgoers looking for an afternoon pause and the dinner crowd settling in for a full menu.
With its all-day dining and a unique format, The Henry offers locals options throughout the day starting Wednesday, June 3, in Plaza del Lago, 1515 Sheridan Road.
Ivory walls and farmhouse windows lie within the newest edition to Plaza del Lago’s repertoire of restaurants, which also include Convite Cafe and Market, Burhop’s Seafood and SPACE 519.
This long-awaited arrival in Plaza de Lago adds an original culinary destination to one of the North Shore’s most esteemed shopping centers, as first reported by The Record in September 2025.
The impending opening continues a reimagination of the plaza under WS Development.
Originally built in the 1920s, Plaza del Lago is known to be the second oldest shopping center in the country.

The Henry is a rare full-service restaurant to open in the plaza. You can read more about the restaurant on its website.
The Henry has established a loyal following in locations such as Los Angeles and Miami and is known for its merger of morning coffeehouse and late-night diner.
The restaurant blends breakfasts and brunches with quick grab-and-go options in addition to sit-down meals. At night, the restaurant transitions into a late night bar and dinner spot.
The Henry’s menu will feature a selection of chef-created seasonal and signature dishes, while maintaining a familiar essence to its gastronomy that customers will favor. Speciality dishes will include the short rib potstickers and Harvest Bowl, alongside a selection of guest favorites.
Mornings will begin with sweet homemade pastries and coffee, followed by a hearty lunch selection featuring one of The Henry’s originals, The Egg Sandwich. Dinners await families looking for sit-down experiences and extensive dining menus.

The Henry also features a circular bar with an assortment of signature drinks and distinct takes on classic cocktails.
With a design that incorporates dark-wood accents, marble finishes and white gallery walls, The Henry seeks to create a space that brushes on both history and revitalization for its diners, according to a press release from the restaurant.
A walkaround patio twines its way around The Henry, allowing customers a relaxing view to foliage and opening up the restaurant to breezes and soft light.
Reservations starting on June 3 are now available.
