Photo Story: A little of this, little of that at first Skokie flea market of year
The Skokie Park District drew more than 80 vendors to the Oakton Community Center on Saturday, May 2, for the district’s first two flea markets of the year.

The Flea Market Frenzy drew 50 vendors to the parking lot of the Oakton Community Center, while the Spring Fling Gift Fair, which featured handmade items from local artists and vendors, drew another 34 inside the community center, said Janeen Gorelick, a park district supervisor.

Hundreds of locals milled past the tables and stalls from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., buying hand-me-down children’s toys, VHS tapes, vintage T-shirts, custom pottery and jewelry.
