Police Reports: Hit-and-run arrests in Northfield, several car burglaries in Skokie
The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).
WILMETTE
April 24
• Two roadway signs reportedly were stolen from the parkway in the 1500 block of Lake Avenue.
April 23
• Multiple occupants of a car were taken into custody following a traffic stop in Wilmette. Police say the car was involved in crimes in other municipalities.
April 21
• A locked bicycle reportedly was stolen from a bike rack in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.
WINNETKA
April 23
• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for $4,801.
GLENCOE
No incidents reported between April 15-22 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
HIGHLAND PARK
April 26
• A resident reported an attempted home burglary based on damage caused to the home’s door frame in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road.
April 24
• Several items reportedly were stolen from Ulta, 135 Skokie Valley Road.
NORTHFIELD
April 25
• An individual was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a car accident that caused personal injury, resisting a police officer and driving under the influence of drugs.
April 20
• An individual was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a car accident that caused vehicle damage.
KENILWORTH
No reported incidents between April 17-24.
SKOKIE
April 21
• A car reportedly was stolen from the 7500 block of Linder Avenue.
• A building reportedly was burglarized in the 3300 block of Howard Street.
• An aggravated assault involving the use of a firearm or device reportedly took place in the 3300 block of Howard Street.
April 20
• Police arrested two men on April 20 for allegedly burglarizing a residence in the 8700 block of Skokie Boulevard.
April 19
• An aggravated battery to a person 60 years or older reportedly took place in the 9200 block of Gross Point Road.
April 18
• Fourteen cars reportedly were burglarized sometime between April 17-18 in the 10100 block of Cherry Parkway.
• Ten cars reportedly were burglarized sometime between April 17-18 in the 4700 block of Russett Lane.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between April 18-19 in the 9200 block of Skokie Boulevard.
