Body found along Highland Park shoreline
Local authorities are investigating after recovering the body of a man in Lake Michigan on Friday near Openlands Lakeshore Preserve in Highland Park.
The Lake County Forest Preserve and Highland Park officers responded around 6 p.m. Friday, April 17, to a report of a possible body, which was located floating in shallow water at the preserve in Fort Sheridan, 10 Cliff Road, said Ron Davis, director of Public Safety at Lake County Forest Preserves, in an email.
Davis said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The news was first reported by Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified; however, the identity of the man has not yet been released. The incident remains under investigation, Davis said.
