Photos: Thousands of people, thousands of pumpkins

Fall — and specifically one seasonal icon — was celebrated all weekend in Highwood

The town’s popular annual Pumpkin Fest drew thousands to the community for pumpkin carving, costume contests, a carnival, live music and more.

The event, in its 17th year, was again put on by Celebrate Highwood, which in a social media post thanked volunteers and local police and city staff for working the event.

The post also said, in part, “A festival this size asks a lot of a small community, and we are so grateful to everyone who helps us pull it off. Our businesses and residents who roll with a little extra craziness for the weekend.”

Photographer Phil Bach stopped by the event to capture the festive action.
