Police Reports: Burglarized work vans, package-theft arrest

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

Sept. 5

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen between Aug. 29-Sept. 2 from a bike rack in the 600 block of Prairie Avenue.

Sept. 2

• Catalytic converters reportedly were stolen off two cars sometime in the previous 14 days in the 3000 block of Glenview Road.

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen from a bike rack in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.

Aug. 31

• An individual was arrested for allegedly stealing packages from Wilmette and Kenilworth addresses and burglarizing two homes on Ridge Road in June.

• At least four work vans reportedly were burglarized and others reportedly damaged overnight in the 700 block of 12th Street.

• An unlocked car reporrtedly was stolen overnight from the 500 block of Maple Avenue.

WINNETKA

Sept. 1

• A mailed 2025 check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed in an amount exceeding $5,000.

GLENCOE

No incidents reported between Aug. 26-Sept. 2 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

Sept. 4

• Landscaping lights reportedly were damaged in the 1600 block of Northland Avenue.

Sept. 3

• Three unlocked cars reportedly were illegally entered in the 1800 block of Eastwood Avenue.

• A purse reportedly was stolen from a car parked in the garage of a home in the 1900 block of Cavell Avenue.

Aug. 31

• Personal property and cash reportedly were stolen from a room at Highland Park Hospital, 777 Park Avenue W.

NORTHFIELD

Sept. 2

• Numerous credit card accounts reportedly were fraudulently opened in a resident’s name.

KENILWORTH

• Approximately $1,400 worth of airline miles reportedly were stolen from a resident’s account.

SKOKIE

Aug. 30

• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 9000 block of Crawford Avenue.

• Two cars reportedly were burglarized in the 9200-9300 block of Keeler Avenue.

• A building reportedly was burglarized between Aug. 29-30 in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue.

• A car reportedly was burglarized between Aug. 29-30 in the 9000 block of Kilbourn Avenue.

Aug. 28

• A building reportedly was burglarized in the 8600 block of Central Park Avenue.

Aug. 27

• Police arrested an individual for allegedly burglarizing a car in the 10000 block of Skokie Boulevard.

• Police arrested an individual for allegedly burglarizing a car in the 10000 block of Peach Parkway.
