Motorist strikes, damages post office in Northfield
No one was injured when a driver crashed into the Northfield Post Office on Wednesday afternoon.
Village police say the incident, which occurred around 3:40 p.m. July 1, was an accident and no charges would be filed.
A photo submitted by a resident shows damage to the entryway of the post office, which at 1787 Orchard Lane is connected to the Northfield Library.
The entrance faces the parking lot and was partially boarded up as of Thursday, July 1.
The post office has remained operational, according to police; though, residents report some services are temporarily altered. The post office did not immediately return a message from The Record.
No damage to the library was reported.
