BASEBALL
New Trier 7, St. Patrick 0
Keenan Donaldson notched three hits, including two doubles,on Thursday, May 21, in Winnetka to lead the Trevians to their fourth straight win.
Stavros Douvikas, Daniel Spilotro and Myles Jenkins combined to pitch a shutout for New Trier (18-13).
Carmel 7, Loyola 5
Anthony Reavy doubled and knocked in two runs for the Ramblers (14-19) on Tuesday, May 19.
New Trier 11, Maine West 1
Charlie Donlan socked a home run and Rowan Hester (2 hits) scored three runs as the host Trevians earned the CSL crossover victory on Monday, May 18, in Winnetka.
Loyola 21, Huntley 11
Bennett Kono tallied four hits, including a home run, and four RBI to power the Ramblers on Monday, May 18.
Anthony Reavy (3 runs), Peter Lafontaine (4 RBI) and Mark Atwood (HR, 3 runs) had three hits apiece for Loyola.
Palatine 6, Loyola 5
Rob Clingan doubled and drove in two runs for the Ramblers, but the host Pirates scored in the bottom of the seventh for the victory on Saturday, May 16.
New Trier 5, Libertyville 3
Trevor Bacik struck out 10 batters en route to the complete-game win for New Trier on Friday, May 15, in Winnetka.
Keenan Donaldson hit a home run for New Trier.
SOFTBALL
New Trier 15, Buffalo Grove 4
Ilana Styles (3 RBI, double), Charlotte Fink (2 RBI) and Lyla Andelin (2 RBI, triple) tallied three hits apiece as the Trevians dominated the playoff opener on Wednesday, May 20.
Carmel 14, Loyola 10
Chloe Takacs had three hits, included a double, and Emilia Clarke had two hits and two RBI for the Ramblers (11-16-1), whose season came to a close with the regional loss on Wednesday, May 20.
New Trier 14, Loyola 4
Sofia Norbot smacked two home runs and recorded 5 RBI to power the Trevians to the rivalry victory on Saturday, May 16.
Elle Ieuter added three hits and three runs scored for New Trier.
GIRLS SOCCER
North Shore Country Day 4, Rochelle Zell 1
The Raiders won their playoff opener on Tuesday, May 19, in the IHSA Class 1A Rochelle Zell Regional in Deerfield.
Regina 3, Christian Heritage 1
The No. 6 Panthers picked up an upset win over the No. 3 Lions on Monday, May 18, in the IHSA Class 1A Cristo Rey St. Martin Regional.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Oak Park-River Forest 25-25, Loyola 16-22
Matthew Lechman finished with 5 kills and Todd Pham 10 digs for the Ramblers (24-11) on Thursday, May 21, in Oak Park.
Maine South 25-25, New Trier 12-18 (May 20)
Loyola 25-25, Mount Carmel 14-20
Drew Bevan recorded 6 kills and Decker Clemente 3 as the Ramblers won the league match on Tuesday, May 19, in Chicago.
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
IHSA Class 3A Sectional
Dylan Nemerovski and Miles Lyons, both seniors, will lead a deep New Trier contingent at the state championships following strong sectional performances on the track Thursday, May 21.
Lyons won the 400-meter run (49.11 seconds), placed fourth in the 200 (21.83, qualifying time) and was part of the second-place 4-by-100 relay (41.38), while Nemerovski qualified in four events: the 100 (2nd, 10.52), 200 (5th, 21.88), 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 (2nd, 1 minute 28.76 seconds).
The pair led the Trevians (127 points) to a runnerup team finish just behind rival Evanston (132). The teams were well ahead of the competition (third place Glenbrook South and Glenbrook North: 66).
Martin Issa, a sophomore, won a sectional championship in the 1,600, finishing in 4:23.08. He also anchored the Trevians’ winning 4-by-800 relay (7:57.82), which also included Sebastian Vining, Jordan Kreiner and Ryan Georgopoulos).
Colin Hirschle, a junior, qualified for state in both hurdles events (110: 2nd, 14.78 seconds; 300: 2nd, 39.97)
New Trier’s 4-by-400 relay (William Hanahan, Camden Hon, Erik Bertrandt, Borlo), like the Trevians 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 relays, also finished second to Evanston and qualified for state, running the race in 3:26.72.
Borlo and Markul were also on the Trevs’ state-qualifying 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 relays; and Hanahan was part of the 4-by-200.

The Trevians season came to an end on Tuesday, May 19, in the IHSA Glenbrook South Super-sectional.
