Police Reports: Attempted home burglaries, stolen car and more

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

April 9

• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen overnight from the 1700 block of Central Avenue. The car reportedly was recovered in Skokie later that day.

April 8

• An individual was arrested for allegedly fleeing police officers near Skokie Boulevard and Old Orchard Road in December 2025.

• A locked bicycle reportedly was stolen from a bike rack in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.

• An individual was arrested for allegedly battering a Chicago Transit Authority employee in the 300 block of Linden Avenue.

April 6

• Several bags of items reportedly were stolen from a business in the 400 block of Green Bay Road.

WINNETKA

No incidents reported between April 8-13 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

GLENCOE

No reported incidents between April 1-8.

HIGHLAND PARK

April 12

• Apple AirPods reportedly were stolen from a home in the 1400 block of McDaniels Avenue.

April 9

• An attempted residential burglary was reported after pry marks were found on a door in the 600 block of Vine Avenue.

April 8

• A home reportedly was broken into in the 1700 block of Reserve Court. A window was found open and pry marks were located on another window, police say.

NORTHFIELD

April 10

• First responders responded to an injured individual who reportedly jumped off an overpass and onto Interstate 94. Police say the individual was transported to the hospital and was stable.

KENILWORTH

No reported incidents between March 27-April 3.

SKOKIE

April 7

• Police arrested an individual for alleged aggravated battery to a peace officer and a violation of an order of protection around 3:30 p.m. on April 7 in the 8500 block of Christiana Avenue.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between April 6-7 in the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between April 6-7 in the 8800 block of Niles Center Road.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between April 5-7 in the 9200 block of Gross Point Road.

April 6

• A car reportedly was burglarized in March in the 7500 block of Central Avenue.

April 2

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between April 1-2 in the 10000 block of Frontage Road.
