Police Reports: Stolen-vehicle crash in Wilmette, 15 burglarized vehicles in Skokie

WILMETTE
April 5
• Items reportedly were stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road while the homeowners were on vacation.
April 4
• Two juveniles were taking into custody at 9th Street and Elmwood Avenue after reportedly fleeing from a single-car crash at Sheridan Road and Ashland Avenue. The juveniles reportedly were in a car stolen from Winnetka, while a third occupant of the vehicle was not apprehended.
April 3
• Several bags of items reportedly were stolen from a store in the 400 block of Green Bay Road.
April 2
• Items reportedly were stolen from a home between 6 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Laramie Avenue.
• A backpack reportedly was stolen from a car in the 3100 block of Old Glenview Road. The backpack was located nearby with an item removed, police say.
WINNETKA
April 4
• A wallet reportedly was stolen overnight from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Willow Road.
• A car reportedly was stolen before 2 p.m. from a driveway in the 500 block of Cherry Street.
• A car reportedly was broken into and damaged in the 500 block of Cherry Street.
April 2
• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen from a driveway in the 600 block of Blackthorn Road.
• A resident reportedly was scammed out of more than $5,000 by an individual purporting to be with Illinois Tollway who requested a transfer of funds.
• A wallet reportedly was stolen overnight from a car parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Locust Street.
GLENCOE
No reported incidents between March 25 and April 1 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
HIGHLAND PARK
April 5
• A piece of jewelry valued at $2,800 reportedly was stolen when an individual approached a stopped vehicle in the 100 block of Omaha Street and handed an item to the driver.
• Several items reportedly were stolen from Walgreens, 655 Elm Place.
April 3
• A bicycle reportedly was stolen on March 29 from the 2300 block of Shady Lane.
April 2
• A laptop reportedly was stolen from an unlocked home in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road.
March 30
• Items reportedly were stolen on Feb. 9 from a home in the 2600 block of St. Johns Avenue.
NORTHFIELD
March 30
• An individual was arrested for allegedly fleeing police and reckless driving on Oct. 5, 2025 in Northfield.
KENILWORTH
No incidents reported between March 27 and April 3.
SKOKIE
April 1
• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 7300 block of Niles Center Road.
• A man was arrested for the alleged illegal discharge of a firearm in the 5000 block of Church Street.
• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from a business in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.
March 31
• At least 15 cars reportedly were burglarized overnight in various locations in Skokie, including in the 8100 block of Knox Avenue (two), 8500 block of Niles Center Road (four), the 8600 block of Niles Center Road, the 9300 block of Weber Park Place, the 4800 block of Maine Street, the 4800 block of Elm Street (two), the 8000 block of Kenton Avenue, the 8300 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, the 4900 block of Church Street, the 8200 block of Kenton Avenue.
