Police Reports: Multiple retail burglaries in Wilmette, several car burglaries on Skokie block
The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).
WILMETTE
Feb. 12
• Several items reportedly were stolen from a store in the 400 block of Green Bay Road.
Feb. 10
• Several items reportedly were stolen from a business in the 3500 block of Lake Avenue after storefront windows reportedly were smashed to gain entry. The incident triggered a burglar alarm and a police response before the offenders fled on the highway at 3:12 a.m., police say.
Feb. 9
• Items reportedly were loaded in backpacks and then stolen from a store in the 400 block of Green Bay Road.
WINNETKA
Feb. 11
• A check mailed in November 2025 reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed in an amount exceeding $5,000.
GLENCOE
No reported incidents between Feb. 4-11 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
HIGHLAND PARK
Feb. 15
• Power tools valued at $1,500 reportedly were stolen from an unlocked business van in the 2600 block of Waukegan Avenue.
NORTHFIELD
Feb. 13
• A man in the custody of another department was charged with forgery related to separate 2025 events involving Northfield businesses.
KENILWORTH
No incidents reported between Feb. 6-13
SKOKIE
Feb. 10
• Property reportedly was stolen from a car sometime between Feb. 9-10 in the 3300 block of Howard Street.
Feb. 9
• A car reportedly was burglarized on Feb. 9 in the 5100 block of Pratt Avenue.
• A car reportedly was burglarized on Feb. 9 in the 9400 block of Lotus Avenue.
• Three cars reportedly were burglarized between Feb. 8-9 in the 4900-5000 block of Fairview Lane.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Feb. 8-9 in the 4900 block of Farwell Avenue.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Feb. 5-9 in the 5000 block of Coyle Avenue.
Feb. 8
• A building reportedly was burglarized on Feb. 8 in the 3400 block of Touhy Avenue.
Feb. 6
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Feb. 5-6 in the 4300 block of Main Street.
Feb. 5
• A building reportedly was burglarized on Feb. 5 in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center.
