Police Reports: Graffiti reported in Highland Park, other towns; car burglaries in Skokie
The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).
WILMETTE
Feb. 8
• A train car reportedly was defaced with graffiti in the 300 block of Linden Avenue.
WINNETKA
Feb. 6
• A landscaping tool (spreader) valued at $265 reportedly was stolen between Jan. 21-Feb. 6 from the Winnetka Public Library, 768 Oak St.
Feb. 3
• A stop sign reportedly was defaced with black spray paint at the corner of Willow and Green Bay roads.
GLENCOE
No reported incidents between Jan. 28-Feb. 4 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
HIGHLAND PARK
Feb. 7
• Several locations in the 700 block of Burchell Avenue reportedly were defaced with graffiti, which the Public Works Department removed.
Feb. 4
• A parking garage reportedly was defaced with graffiti at Keshet, 799 Central Ave.
Feb. 2
• An electrical box reportedly was defaced with graffiti at The Lot, 525 Central Ave.
• A break-in attempt reportedly was made on a home in the 1900 block of Keats Lane. A side door sustained significant damage, according to police.
NORTHFIELD
Feb. 4
• A resident reported a forgery involving their bank account.
KENILWORTH
No incidents reported by press time (Tuesday, Feb. 10).
SKOKIE
Feb. 5
• Two cars reportedly were burglarized sometime between Feb. 4-5 in the 4500-4600 block of Main Street.
Feb. 4
• An aggravated battery to a peace officer or “policing volunteer” reportedly took place on Feb. 4 in the 3400 block of Church Street.
• A car reportedly was burglarized on Feb. 4 in the 4300 block of Greenwood Street.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Feb. 3-4 in the 8000 block of Kostner Avenue.
• A car reportedly was stolen sometime between Feb. 3-4 from the 8800 block of Lowell Terrace.
Feb. 3
• An individual reportedly was robbed on Feb. 3 in the 3900 block of Dempster Street.
Feb. 2
• Police reportedly recovered a stolen car around 4:38 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the 5400 block of Touhy Avenue.
• An aggravated assault based on the victim reportedly took place on Feb. 2 in the 4600 block of Washington Street.
Jan. 31
• A car reportedly was stolen on Jan. 31 from the 5000 block of Estes Avenue.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 30-31 in the 7500 block of Kildare Avenue.
Jan. 30
• Police arrested a man in the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road for reportedly burglarizing a building and stealing from a retail store.
