Police Reports: Arrestee had replica firearm, plus car burglaries and retail-theft arrest
The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).
WILMETTE
Jan. 16
• A woman was arrested for allegedly stealing items from a home in the 800 block of Sheridan Road on Jan. 13.
Jan. 13
• A Chicago man was arrested on two counts of retail thefts for allegedly burglarizing stores in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road in August and November of 2025.
WINNETKA
Jan. 12
• A cord reportedly was cut to an ice cream cooler at the Metra depot at 754 Elm St., causing nearly $900 in damage, according to a police report.
GLENCOE
No incidents reported between Jan. 7-14.
HIGHLAND PARK
Jan. 15
• A package reportedly was stolen from the lobby of a building in the 2000 block of St. Johns Avenue.
• A delivered mattress reportedly was stolen from a front porch in the 200 block of Linden Avenue.
• A package valued at $65 reportedly was taken between Jan. 10-11 in the 1600 block of Green Bay Road.
Jan. 14
• A credit card reportedly was stolen from a Mobil gas station, 2580 Skokie Valley Road, and fraudulently used in another jurisdiction.
Jan. 9
• Police arrested a Chicago man who reportedly refused to leave Highland Tobacco N Vape, 1821 St. Johns Ave. and was “talking about a shooting,” according to the City of Highland Park. Upon arrest, the city says, the man was in possession of a replica, nonfunctional firearm and one bullet and subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
NORTHFIELD
No reported incidents between Jan. 12-18 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
KENILWORTH
No incidents reported between Jan. 9-16.
SKOKIE
Jan. 13
• A car reportedly was burglarized on Jan. 13 in the 8800 block of Gross Point Road in Skokie.
Jan. 12
• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 4000 block of Dobson Street.
• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 9700 block of Karlov Avenue.
• A car reportedly was burglarized in the 7600 block of Crawford Avenue.
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 11-12 in the 5000 block of Fitch Avenue.
• Property reportedly was stolen from a car sometime between Jan. 10-12 in the 4800 block of Louise Avenue.
Jan. 9
• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 8-9 in the 8900 block of Lavergne Avenue.
