Glenbrook North 67, New Trier 64

Trevians (13-5, 3-2) recorded a tough-luck loss on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Northbrook.

Loyola 60, Marmion 53

Luke Alvarez scored 15 points and Trey Williams 13 in the Ramblers’ league victory on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Wilmette.

Benet Academy 57, Loyola 28

The Ramblers (16-4) couldn’t keep up with the top-ranked Redwings on Saturday, Jan. 10, in the Pappas Shootout.

Niles North 73, Highland Park 58

Evan Mintzer scored 20 points and Gray Kanter 15 for the Giants in the league loss on Friday, Jan. 9, in Highland Park.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Loyola 70, Fenwick 26

Behind nine three-pointers, the Ramblers bested the Friars on Thursday, Jan. 15, to move to 19-2.

New Trier 48, Palatine 36

Emerson Buck racked up 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the visiting Trevians to a nonconference win on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Palatine.

Vic Wainscott added 14 points and 8 rebounds for New Trier (8-12).

Loyola 52, Trinity 38

Emily Naraky finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the victorious Ramblers on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in River Forest.

Clare Weasler tallied 12 points, 6 assists and 3 steals and Marycait Mackie 7 points and 5 steals for Loyola (18-2).

Glenbrook North 51, Highland Park 44

The Giants fell in the CSL crossover matchup on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Northbrook.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Conant Invitational

Zmorah Izenstark (130 pounds, B) and Molly Zeidler (125, C) won their brackets for New Trier on Saturday, Jan. 10, while Trevians Sunny Aitzemkour (110, A), Sera Izenstark (135, D), Mia Shefi (145, C) and Caroline Seidel (190, D) all placed third.

Destiny Cardona (170, B) finished second in her bracket, Lexi Rosenthal (170, A) third and Lexi Hoobler (140, A) fourth for Highland Park.

GYMNASTICS
Highland Park 122.7, Maine West 103.05

Maddyn Cohen won three of four events en route to the all-around title (33.4) in the Giants’ league victory on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Zoe Fialko (28.6) placed second in the all-around for Highland Park.

Glenbrook South 141.45, New Trier 136.45

Elena Scarano tied for first on floor with a 9.2 to lead the Trevians in the conference dual on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Harper Jacobs placed third on vault (9.2) and Karis Park third on bars (8.5) for New Trier.

Highland Park 126.45, Niles West 112.85

Maddyn Cohen (vault, beam, floor) and Lily Fussle (bars) were event winners for the Giants in their dual-meet victory on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Lake Forest Straus Invitational

Elena Scarano placed sixth in floor and Harper Jacobs sixth on vault to lead New Trier to fourth in the 11-team meet on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Maddyn Cohen placed 13th on the vault for Highland Park.

BOYS SWIM/DIVE
Evanston Invitational

Reed Woodward, Teddy O’Donnell, Filip Stolar and Charlie Sears raced to second place in the 400-yard free relay to highlight New Trier’s first-place team performance on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Everett Pumphrey finished third in the 500 free, Stolar fourth in the 50 free, Teddy O’Donnell fourth in the 100 butterfly and Sears fourth in the 100 free for the Trevians.

Velizar Filipov nabbed second in the 100 backstroke for Loyola Academy, which also got a third-place result from Devon Bone in the 100 breaststroke.
