Police Reports: Several car burglaries in Highland Park, Skokie; retail-theft arrests in Wilmette

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

Jan. 9

• An individual was arrested twice on Jan. 9 for allegedly stealing several items from stores on Green Bay Road and potentially businesses in other communities.

Jan. 7

• An individual was arrested for allegedly throwing an object through a glass door of a business in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard and then taking items from the business.

Jan. 6

• A check reportedly was stolen and altered.

WINNETKA

Jan. 8

• A purse and its contents valued at $2,400 reportedly were taken from an Uber between 10:20-10:58 a.m. Dec. 14.

Jan. 7

• A package containing an iPad reportedly was stolen between noon-12:10 p.m. from the UPS Store, 1001 Green Bay Road.

• Merchandise valued at $285 reportedly was stolen from Rare Finds antiques store, 890 Green Bay Road.

• Jewelry reportedly went missing between Dec. 25-31 from a home in the 700 block of Foxdale Avenue.

GLENCOE

No reported incidents between Dec. 30-Jan. 7 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

Jan. 9

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

Jan. 7

• A car window reportedly was smashed at McGrath Kia of Highland Park, 250 Skokie Valley Road.

Jan. 5

• Items reportedly were stolen from several unlocked cards in the Fort Sheridan area of Highland Park. At least five police reports were filed; two from the 3200 block of Summit Avenue, and one each from 3100 block of University Avenue, 3200 block of Dato Avenue and 600 block of Old Elm Road.

NORTHFIELD

No incidents reported between Jan. 5-11.

KENILWORTH

Jan. 8

• An individual reportedly used a resident’s credit card to fraudulently purchase $2,600 worth of merchandise from Summit Racing Equipment

SKOKIE

Jan. 9

• Two cars reportedly were burglarized sometime between Jan. 8-9 in the 4300-4600 block of Main Street.

Jan. 7

• A residence reportedly was burglarized sometime between Dec. 24 and Jan. 7 in the 9500 block of Bronx Plaza.

Jan. 5

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 3-5 in the 9200 block of Karlov Avenue.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 4-5 in the 7600 block of Keeler Avenue.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 4-5 in the 4600 block of Elm Terrace.

Jan. 4

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Jan. 2-4 in the 7400 block of Kedvale Avenue.

• A car reportedly was burglarized around 1:02 a.m. on Jan. 4 in the 9500 block of Kildare Avenue.

Jan. 3

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime during the afternoon of Jan. 3 in the 7300 block of McCormick Boulevard.

Jan. 1

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in the 4900 block of Foster Street.

Dec. 29

• A residence reportedly was burglarized on Dec. 29 in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue.
