Police Reports: Retail thefts in Wilmette, Highland Park; car burglaries in Skokie

The following reports were pulled from the latest incident summaries provided by law enforcement departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth, Glencoe and Skokie).

WILMETTE

Dec. 28

• Items reportedly were stolen from a car in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue and a resident reportedly confronted the alleged offenders, who fled the scene.

Dec. 27

• Several items reportedly were stolen from a store in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue.

• A motorist was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and crashing into a phone-control box near Skokie Boulevard and Old Glenview Road.

WINNETKA

Dec. 28

• A gas card reportedly was stolen from a car parked in a driveway in the 0 block of Warwick Road.

GLENCOE

No reported incidents between Dec. 24-30 meet The Record’s standards for publication.

HIGHLAND PARK

Dec. 26

• Merchandise valued at $56 reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Walgreens, 655 Elm Place.

NORTHFIELD

Dec. 23

• A hit-and-run accident reportedly occurred in the 300 block of Waukegan Road and is under investigation.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Dec. 19-26

SKOKIE

Dec. 26

• A car reportedly was burglarized around 5 a.m. on Dec. 26 in the 7400 block of Kedvale Avenue.

Dec. 23

• A peace officer/policing volunteer reportedly was battered around midnight on Dec. 23 in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road.

• A car reportedly was burglarized around 4:50 a.m. on Dec. 23 in the 4300 block of Lyons Street.

Dec. 22

• A car reportedly was stolen sometime between Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 in the 9000 block of Keating Avenue.

• Another car reportedly was stolen sometime between Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 in the 9500 block of Keeler Avenue.

Dec. 21

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 in the 100 block of Salem Lane.

Dec. 20

• A car reportedly was stolen sometime between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20 in the 9000 block of Lacrosse Avenue.

Dec. 19

• Property reportedly was stolen from a car around 8:40 a.m. on Dec. 19 in the 7800 block of Austin Avenue.

• Police arrested a 27-year-old man around 10 a.m. on Dec. 19 for allegedly trespassing at a residence in the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue.

• A home reportedly was burglarized around 9 a.m. on Dec. 19 in the 7600 block of Keeler Avenue.

• A car reportedly was stolen around 6:30 a.m. from the 3900 block of Dempster Street.

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime between Dec. 18 and Dec. 19 in the 9100 block of Lawler Avenue.

Dec. 18

• A car reportedly was burglarized sometime in the early morning hours in the 9400 block of Kostner Avenue.
