Glencoe ‘Lemon-Aid’ stands on Saturday will benefit library expansion

The Glencoe Public Library is asking its supporters to “take a stand” for the library on Saturday, Sept. 20, by enjoying a cup of lemonade at locations all over Glencoe.

The library says in a release that Glencoe children will run 12 lemonade stands between 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday with all proceeds supporting the Glencoe Public Library’s upcoming renovation.

The locations are: in front of the library, Friends Park, Central School, Glencoe Beach, Duke Park, Takiff Center, Watts Park, Woodlawn Park, Green Bay Trail (at South Avenue), Shelton Park, Veterans Memorial Park, and The Grand.

Look for yellow and blue balloons and kids wearing yellow t-shirts with the library logo.

The “Lemon-Aid” program is organized by the Capital Campaign Advisory Council, a group raising funds for a library renovation project planned for 2026-2028.

The council’s “Rooted in History, Building for Tomorrow” campaign has already hosted several informal sessions at businesses and private homes in Glencoe as well as at the library. More events will be scheduled for the fall.

For information on the campaign, contact the library’s executive director, Andrew Kim, or visit the campaign website.
