Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in Northfield crash
A motorcyclist was hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon following a crash in Northfield.
Northfield police said the motorcyclist — a 20-year-old man from Glenview — struck a pole after attempting to pass a car in the 200 block of Waukegan Road. The man reportedly hit a curb first, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and strike the pole.
Local emergency units responded around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 and “provided immediate medical assistance” to the motorcyclist, according to information from the Northfield Police Department.
The injured man reportedly was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
The crash shut down Waukegan Road between Willow and Winnetka roads for approximately five hours on Tuesday, according to Northfield police.
Northfield police say the investigation is ongoing and the motorcyclist remains critical as of press time.
