Car crashes into Winnetka residence; Driver injured

A teenage driver was hospitalized after crashing an SUV into a Winnetka home in the early hours of Saturday, according to the Winnetka Police Department.

No one in the residence was injured, police say.

According to a media release emergency personnel responded at approximately 3:05 a.m. after a Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a decorative fence, a parked car and then a residential complex at 932-936 Westmoor Road.

The driver, an 18-year-old from Northfield, reportedly was transported to the hospital. No more information on the teen’s condition was immediately clear.

The crash is under investigation.
