Glencoe man, 47, dies following Christmas weekend fight with brother

A Glencoe man is dead after a physical altercation with his brother in the early hours of Christmas morning, according to the Gurnee Police Department.

Gurnee police reportedly arrested Kevin Biron-Bomis, 50, of Gurnee, and charged him with the murder of Brandon Biron-Bomis, 47, who was unconscious and not breathing when police responded to Kevin’s home at 1:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of Boulevard View Avenue.

First responders “attempted life-saving efforts” before Brandon Biron-Bomis was transported to Vista Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy by the Lake County Coroner’s Office showed trauma but cause of death was inconclusive, according to a release from Jennifer Banek.

According to Gurnee police Kevin Biron-Bomis punched Brandon Biron-Bomis “several times until he stopped breathing.” Police said in a statement that the brothers argued earlier in the evening at a different location and continued the argument when they arrived at the home of Kevin Biron-Bomis.

Police arrested Kevin Biron-Bomis at the scene, and he faces a bond of $5 million after a Dec. 27 appearance in Lake County court.

The Gurnee PD is in charge of the investigation.
