The Record books tee time for inaugural summer golf outing

This one is “fore” local news.

Join The Record North Shore on the course this summer for its inaugural charity golf outing to support nonprofit, nonpartisan local news for your community.

The Record Open is all set for 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at Chick Evans Golf Course, just down Golf Road in Morton Grove. All proceeds from the event go right back into responsible and meaningful community news.

For more details and to register as an individual or team, visit The Record Open’s website.

In regard to COVID-19, safety guidelines from the CDC and local public health departments will be observed.

The Record North Shore is a nonprofit news outlet serving Chicago’s northern suburbs. We believe that you deserve reliable local news, and our public-service reporting is free for all to read at TheRecordNorthShore.org.

All participating golfers will receive 18 holes with a cart, a lunch from new Wilmette barbecue spot Pit & Tap, a drink ticket and chances to win a number of contests, including lowest group score, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.

Check in begins at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. The format is a scramble, in which the team selects the best shot and all balls are then played from that spot.

Hole sponsorships are available.
