High School Highlights: Trevian bowlers make history; Loyola girls hoops earns two big wins

BOYS BOWLING
New Trier tops Deerfield

Jack Eadie bowled 11 straight strikes to finish with a 298, leading the Trevians to a school record 1,408 pins — a 234 average over six bowlers — in the first game of a virtual-match victory against Deerfield Wednesday, Feb. 10.

In the record-setting game, Nick Henner rolled a 269, Max Blake a 236, David Gormanous a 220, Matt Booden a 201 and Sam Wolf a 184.

The previous record was 1,129, set in 2008.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Loyola 63, Mother McAuley 56

Isabelle Ogliore dropped 17 points to lead four Ramblers in double figures in the home-opening win Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Wilmette.

Summer Park-Hall scored 15, and Silvana Scarsella and Arielle Dabu had 12 apiece for Loyola (2-0). Nyla Walker piled up 26 points for the Mighty Macs.

Loyola 48, Libertyville 45

The visitings Ramblers took down the nonconference perennial power on Monday, Feb. 8, in Libertyville.

DePaul Prep 55, Regina Dominican 48

Laura Strenk scored 17 points and Reganne French added 16 to lead the Panthers in the loss Tuesday, Feb. 9.

North Shore Country Day 41, Rochelle Zell 30

The Raiders open their season with a victory Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The visiting Raiders picked up their first win on the year on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
