Winnetka Police Reports: Multiple claims of unemployment fraud, forced entry into storage unit, more

Multiple residents (at least three) reported from Sept. 21-26 that unknown offender(s) used their personal identifiers to apply for an Illinois Department of Employment Security debit card and unemployment benefits.

Sept. 23

• Unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked trailer in the 1200 block of Hill Road sometime between 1:30-3:30 p.m. and removed a concrete saw. Police estimate a loss of $899.

Sept. 26

• Someone in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reported that unknown offender(s) entered their secured storage unit and forced entry to an empty locked safe. Police say the estimated loss is $500.
