Showing support: Residents unite to rally against gun violence at annual Wear Orange event

10:37 a.m. June 7, 2022

Hundreds of locals showed up in Orange on Sunday, June 5, to honor survivors and build community with their neighbors while working to end gun violence at the annual Wear Orange rally in Indian Hill Park in Winnetka.

The family friendly event was organized by Moms Demand Action NorthShore along with Students Demand Action factions from New Trier High School and Northwestern University.

Wear Orange is an annual and nationwide initiative formed in 2015 to honor slain Chicago teenager Hadiya Pendleton, who was shot in the back in 2015 while standing in a public park.
